So I've been thinking a lot about gender as binary vs. spectrum.  I'm doing a performance where I will adhere strictly to gender stereotypes but the fun part is: I will be adhering to them at the same time.  I want to experience what it feels like to see these strict expectations obeyed to the letter but at the same time mashed up beyond repair, as ( Read more... )

I like the idea, I think you should do the talking part and I like how your thinking of doing it.

Would def give people something to think about

Use a stereotypical female voice to utter a series of stereotypically classic "male" phrases like, "I'll call you" and "but she's a NICE girl," (i.e., as opposed to being a "bad" one) or some such fuckery. Then use a stereotypical male voice to utter a series of stereotypically classic "female" phrases like,"I want us to be friends," and "but you're a nice guy" (i.e., she wants a bad boy). Use all those phrases men and women use to fuck each other over, but in the voice of the opposite gender.
