Awwww, rivalmancies! Hurt and comfort! Enemies becoming lovers! Found families! Aaaaaawwwww!

These are my favorite tropes too. I'd like to add raising a baby to the mix, because I'm a sucker for kid!fic. They make me so happy *w*

Basically the top 4 would be like that for me too, expect maybe in different positions? But anyway.

I don't get the appeal of coffee shops AU which seems very popular and I don't like A/B/O stuff.

They are such delightful tropes! And joyfully abundant in H/D :D

I never think I like kidfic, because I can always think of examples I hate? And I like stories where true love doesn't require babies. But actually there's a lot of kidfic I really love as well.

Coffee shop AUs... sigh. I think it's because it's a scenario pretty much everyone's familiar with, same as high school AUs? But it mystifies me. The world of my favourite fandoms is a big part of the appeal for me, I don't want to read about Harry with no magic or Buffy with no superpowers or Thor with no hammer.

The A/B/O thing I've read very little of, although I've read a couple of fics I liked? It does delight me because it's SO fandom, in how it brings together some long-running tropes and adds it up to a world everyone understands the basic rules of despite it basically coming out of nowhere.

Figging randomly came up in a conversation with my gf the other day (I was telling her about a ridiculous quote from 'Grey' I'd read). She hadn't come across the term before so I had to explain it. She sounded kind of traumatised XD

Every time I see 'CBT' in a non-kink context I have to remind myself that it stands for cognitive behavioural therapy and not the other thing. Smut has ruined me forever :p

Unrequited pining (seemingly or not) is one of my favourite things in fiction :')
