Oh dear, Kurt and Blaine. Break up. Like seriously. You were good for each other while it lasted, all very nice, but you're hundreds of miles apart (?I think. Not really clear where Ohio is. God I’m so ignorant) and your lives are super different and your sex life was never explosive. I am sorry! But people break up! Usually when stuff like this happens!
So, I'm not super familiar with Glee so judging this out of (all the) context is kinda hard. But, NGL, I kinda resent the lack of faith in long-distance relationships and the idea that sex life not being "explosive" is somehow a super legitimate reason to end a relationship. I mean...like...if you're not happy for whatever reason then, yea, sure, go ahead and end it but I don't think that the natural thing to do, automatically, when you're separated from your significant other and can't have lots of "explosive" sex. I guess I resent the idea that sex is always an indispensable part of a romantic relationship. (Of course, maybe I'm just misunderstanding.)
Long-distance relationships can and do survive until they're not long-distance any more, but they're REALLY HARD.

And sex isn't ALWAYS an indispensable part of a romantic relationship - but I'd say it usually is. (One big reason LDRs are so hard.) I don't think it's "automatic/natural" to break up under those conditions (this is where the context matters - there's just been cheating, it's all been really difficult anyway) but I DO think sex is a really important part of the majority of romantic

NYC to Lima, Ohio is almost 600 miles so it's a very long way from NYC.
They filmed part of the episode where Kurt sings to try and get into the school at Cooper Union where my kid goes to school. I really liked how he sang that song.
They are much more conservative in Ohio than NYC so it is not surprising that they'd sing Christian songs at various times.
I really liked when Rachel auditioned for Funny Girl and used that song. Harkens back to first season.
I wonder how they are going to approach the fact that Cory Monteith who played Rachel's boyfriend is dead.

Right, but where I mentioned the singing of a Christian hymn I was talking about Jewish Rachel in NYC. Mercedes or Kitty singing that song as her "favourite" wouldn't have made me go "???"
Me too. Particularly given I understand he was meant to be a major player in this season.
about Finn's fate on the show.nevrafireOctober 3 2013, 21:20:37 UTC
First of all-He (the actor playing finn- cory?) had such a future and this happened and :(
as for how they will handle it on the show- finn will die on the show as well but the cause of death wont be stablished at all. (aka Finn wont die from drug overdose)
the- fifth? episode is where the news will break out and it will be tribute episode.
and I don't know if i'll be able to watch it cause even seeing his pictures in glee articles make me cry. If I do I'm going to be a sobbing wreck.
See, maybe I'm misinterpreting/remembering given I watched it all once in a rush, but I didn't get the impression she was recovered, just recovering. Which I like and is more realistic - like, maybe it'll be a recurring thing.
Blaine/Kurt is... I'm not exactly bored, but it does really make the fear on American telly of letting characters/relationships go v obvious.
I didn't think it seemed pathetic, but I know what you mean re: Tina - she's been chronically underwritten for so long it's not surprising they didn't know where to go with her.
How they handled Ryder's big truth really pissed me off. That his friends were telling him he should be proud of being felt up by an older woman. I wanted to throw my chair at the tv in rage over that. That didn't actually - well, it made me angry, but not with the show. The programme didn't mishandle it imo because they didn't back up his friends - his friends said that stuff but they were clearly wrong, and you had his conversation with Kitty to

No, I can see that - the show set a certain standard for exploration of teen issues, and then hasn't met it with Marley. I think I'm looking at it slightly wrongly for the context - like, Skins UK did this rather cool thing with an episode centred around a girl with an eating disorder where it wasn't the point of the story, but was still this constant thing and not romanticised. And was barely referenced afterwards. But Glee has already done things differently - and more importantly, it has 22 episodes rather than 6 in a season

I love all your thoughts. I will attempt to do more extensive replies to some, but we'll see if that happens. I knew you would love Santana once she came to prominence, and yup, wanted you to watch until you saw the start of that.
The fifth season will be split, so you could possibly watch the first half in the winter when it's done, rather than waiting for the end of 5 if you do want to watch.

Idk, Kurt is still getting his own storylines and voiceovers and such.
Huh. I looked it up, too! Only v quickly though so I probably misunderstood some past-tense-ness.
He's so different!

I DOOOO. Santana is great. And so pretty. In "sometimes my bisexuality makes me a bad feminist" news, I want a scene with her at her cage-dancing job.
Ah! That sounds like a good idea. I'll need comfort when Pretty Little Liars leaves me again after the Hallowe'en special.
