Did you go out with colleagues in the end? I wish you good luck with lesson planning; I seriously think my mum would happily help you with lesson plans/ideas if you want/need any. Just saying, I know you only hear about her bad side, but this is stuff (the helpnig as well as the doing) she is good at, so if you fancy emailing someone to look things over/for ideas for teaching teens (which is mainly what she's done the past couple years, though her experience is mostly adults) I can talk to her and give you her address

I was too tired in the end for colleagues fun, which is a fail. But I am reminding myself that such a fail will not actually define my relationships with these people for a year :) Also, thanks for the offer! But the academic manager will go through this stuff with me sometime this week, and they have books of games there, so I should be okay

Good to know, thought I would make the point :) and not going out once is totally fine, there is lots of time to build relationships.

I am really glad I'd watched those before reading your post because it reminded me of so much of how they work. Especially as in This Years Girl and Who Are You they didn't actually really interact.

THIS YEAR'S GIRL! WHO ARE YOU! Who Are You is probably my actual favourite Buffy episode. I LOVE IT LIKE CAKE.

Buffy and Faith you mean? Yeah, definitely. Especially since in TYG Buffy is actually being an awesome person who shows compassion and stuff, and then in Sanctuary is all terrible.

Seriously, Buffy very very rarely loses my sympathy, but with Faith she is just THE WORST starting with Graduation Day. (In S3 generally I feel like she tries - her fuckups are generally well-intentioned. Although the 'psyche!' moment with pretend!Angelus hurts my heart for Faith.
