That's just lovely. The line while the slow and steady beat of their understanding wove its way across the phone line, un-vocalized but not unheard, like the deep and vital tones of an alien world is gorgeous, and I love how that and the SG-1 walked in step at the end play off the episode in this extra, sidelong way to the fact of its being a tag fic. I love Teal'c at the end there, his overview of his team and the look exchanged with Hammond, and the Carter section is delightful. Plus, perfect apology on the phone there, really sweet, and cutely Jack, the way he gets what Daniel's doing, and wishes he'd thought of it. Also enjoyed the added glosses on their argument, from both sides.

You appear to have a knack for picking out my favorite lines--the idea that Jack and Daniel's friendship is woven through with things not said but heard anyway works so WELL with this episode, I had to use it somehow. And somehow Teal'c's summary about 'walking in step' just fell right into place there, which made me doubly happy.

I've only recently started writing in this fandom myself, though I've watched it and lurked for quite a while, so most of my writing is in other fandoms, but I've got several other projects on the boil. *grin*

The category of 'things not said but understood anyway' is one of my favorite options for Jack/Daniel communication. It's always fun to see how well they understand each other at the most basic level, even though they come at just about everything from opposite points of view.
