Naquadah! That’s it-denseness in the asteroid, why neither Sam nor anyone else looked for it. A major kink in the plan. Daniel grimaces and spends the next few minutes thinking ‘hurry-up’ thoughts in Jack’s and Teal’c’s general direction. It beats thinking ‘let me out!’ non-stop, though there’s a fair amount of that too. All Daniel’s attention ( Read more... )

Thank you! It was inspired by seeing Daniel's grimace when the escape pod was opened. I sat there thinking, 'jeez, how long were they in there?'

That was very interesting! Both in terms of Daniel's thoughts, and his progression toward the needed insight. I really liked that a lot!

He thinks if he remembers when he gets back to Earth, he should look up that play and see if the playwright is still alive, and send him a letter to congratulate him on encapsulating perfectly the experience of lying in a coffin.

And wouldn't that just freak out Tom Stoppard!!

Glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun with it. And yes, I expect that would flip out poor Tom Stoppard. *snicker*

Oh, what a wonderful exploration of Daniel's head when he's literally stuck alone with his thoughts.

I love how you weave his past experiences with random thoughts on translations and theater in a natural stream of consciousness.

(Now I'm going to have to dig out Failsafe to rewatch. It's been a while...and I never have seen "Armeggedon").

(And yay for you writing gen fic so that little section is not completely bare on debrief this week!)

I like living in Daniel's mind. It's purty. *grin*

Happy to be able to offer up some gen every once in a while, when I can get the Muse to cooperate. Glad you enjoyed it!

Go Daniel. A great way to beat the claustrophobic blues and save the day :) My hero. Lovely little fic. Thank you.
