Just stumbled over this, and omg it is perfect! o.O I will so pimp this in my journal! I love how the Dutchman choose Will after tasting his blood. And Bill... Dear old Bill. You write him so well. *pats the old man*

Thank you! I'm still pleased with this one, even ages after having written it.

Just amazing. I loved the contrast between the flow of warm blood in Will's veins, and the cold saltwater that courses through the veins of the crew.

The ship soaking up his blood, and choosing him, and then laughing at Bootstrap for daring to think he could come between the Dutchman and the captain she so obviously wants was soo eerie. Gave me shivers.

I am so glad I found your writings. It's wonderful to find someone who voices Will the way that you do. It's clear and completely true to him, something that is sadly lacking.

Thank you! There's a fascinating idea that I've run across in both books and movies, where for one reason or another, one of the hero characters is sort of an evil-magnet. With Frodo it's the Ring and the guardian in the water outside Moria, with Luke Skywalker it's the Force and the creepy one-eyed thing in the garbage chute, so I had this thought that Will's alive-ness was itself attractive. He's so vibrant in comparison to these washed-out half-fish things, even the ship was bound to notice.

I adore Will, and I'm thrilled that you find my version of his voice compelling. So many people either make him too square or too whiny, and there's so much more to his character!

I read this from your intro over on DW, and I loved it! I wish there were more fic that explored Will's indentity as a blacksmith in relationship to what he became, and this is wonderful: the way Will is something completely *other* on the Dutchman, and the way he comes into its world anyway. (Also, of course, Will/Dutchman 'ship ships yay!)

Thanks! I really love Will's character arc, and I've written a bunch of Will-centric stuff, though I'm not sure there's anything else that really approaches this for sheer weirdness. I have this fic in my head that's Will/Calypso/Dutchman, but I haven't worked out how it's going to go exactly. I have about three sentences, which is, you know, not enough. *laugh*

I'm looking forward to catching up on everyone's intros on DW, and I hope other people followed damned_colonial's suggestion to rec something of theirs. I always love finding new AOS writers.
