I am amused, as I may have previously remarked, by the unending capacity of religions to heap arbitrary and silly restrictions on day-to-day activity. And as for the business about no poultices on the Sabbath - well, there we go! Religion *is* bad for your health!

Well, one was required to break that particular rule if it would otherwise result in somebody's death, so even if Judaism is bad for your health it isn't lethal. Which is more than can be said for some religions...
