Hey, I've not been posting for a while. Sorry about that.

Right now I'm in Melbourne Australia. On Thursday we drive up towards Sydney. In two weeks we'll be in New Zealand. In a month we'll be in San Francisco. In two months we'll have an apartment. I'll be working, back at Rdio.

Actually, I probably should be getting some work done for them right ( Read more... )

I take it that replacing the battery isn't an option? Or is it in 'too hard when on move' basket?

Probably the latter. If I can get a replacement battery in Melbourne I'll get one. Otherwise I'll try to order one to arrive in Sydney by the time I'm there in about a week and a half. Otherwise I'll try to get one to Auckland. Or perhaps I'll get my hands on a new laptop somewhere along the line...

the worse is when you get the invite, try to use it, get told to go away and then got a new mail sent telling you you haven't used your invite yet. I went berserk on that and read them the riot act.

Yeah, we'll get the deals in Australia eventually. I was using it for a while with Australian rights and that meant I could only get 30 second samples of almost everything.

Good travels! Sorry I was not not able to come to your drinks thing and say hello but I had something else on.

My battery died recently with the same prob (mac?). I tried everything but just had to buy a new one.

at least you can find one relatively easily (if the machine is not too old) :-/

We'll have to try to catch up next time. Unfortunately my laptop battery doesn't exist in Australia. Apple do a good job of only having a couple of different batteries across all of their models, and then having them in stock.

and given that it is a PC laptop battery, your are sad out of luck to find a spare one off the shelf. been there, done that. I took a few weeks to get one shipped from IBM.

Yeah, I ended up buying a new laptop. Thanks to the netbook revolution I picked up a "high end netbook" which is exactly what I needed pretty cheap. I'll pick up a lenovo battery eventually so I can use my old laptop for something.

If the two of you need somewhere to stay while in Sydney, you're welcome to stay with us!

In any case, catching up for a drink/meal/whatever would be great if you have time. :)
