Eight Years, Thirteen Days

Eight years and thirteen days ago I moved to the US. I arrived for the last ten days of Bill Clinton's presidency. As a result I'm finding it somewhat disconcerting to have a President doing things that actually seem like a good idea.

I don't know if disconcerting is the right word here.

what are you talking about, spending 30% of your time vacationing sounds like a great idea.

We had something similar happen when our troglodyte left last year and Rudd came in as PM. The first few months were wonderful as some things were done [0] that the country had been wanting [1] for some years. Then his Christian backbone rebounded [2] and we're all wondering what piece of scariness [3] is going to happen next.

I know Obama is not perfect, but there are some gems that came through in his acceptance speech that lead me to believe that even if he is never a brilliant president, that he will actually run the office competently, something that has not happened in the last 8 years.

Hmm, odd, don't we still have a Queen of Australia?.

Yes, it's good that the US of A has a President that will do things (and will be a new experience for it's citizens and denizens)

*hums God Save The Queen*
