The soft whirr of the CD spinning up in his alarm clock wakes Wilson.  He shuts it off before the CD begins playing, and turns his head to look at Julie.  She is asleep, still and peaceful.

For once, he feels pretty peaceful himself.  He knows things are still not well between ( Read more... )

Glad you enjoyed it. The Wilson/Julie parts were fun -- and surprisingly easy -- to write. Thanks for reading, and for commenting!

I found this story tonight and read the whole thing straight through. You kept me up until 12:30am reading this fic. I had to blame someone...

You nailed the characters of House and Wilson so well, great dialogue and interaction! Also, your attention to detail with the medical jargon and your thorough description of the scene were greatly appreciated. I love when writers use so much detail to describe a simple act.

Great ending with Wilson finally coming "home". I think the House/Wilson friendship is one of the best relationships on TV.
Great job on your first fic! I'm totally impressed.

Looking forward to more of your writing!

Gee, I'm "sorry" for keeping you up so late...? Glad you liked it! If it makes you feel any better, it kept me up way past my bedtime on more than one occasion while it was being written. :-)

I write like I read -- trying to imagine the actors in my head, playing out the scene. I'm just in awe of the chemistry that HL and RSL bring to the House-Wilson relationship, and I was hoping not to fall too short of the mark in writing that friendship (and exploring just a little of its hidden underbelly) here. Hopefully that results, more often than not, in believable voices and a "goldilocks" amount of detail.

Thank you for the feedback!

Goody goody, you finished it! I'm going to rec it on my page (that nobody reads, so it's not much of an advertisement as it is an appreciation).

Now, about these shorter projects... when? [/eager]

Oh, my -- thanks for the rec, that’s mighty nice of you!

At the moment, I’m still lingering in the satisfied afterglow of finishing a long project, but there are a couple of ideas knocking around in my head. Now if only I can convince the Muse to stick around and dance for me, instead of disappearing behind her veils...
