Back to the "fun and silly" category tonight. The Darkness are still going, but their heyday was between 2002 and 2005, and in December 2003 they came agonisingly close to grabbing the Christmas number one, in the end beaten by just 5,000 copies by Gary Jules' re-release of "Mad World". One of the reasons The Darkness were so popular was that they realised how intrinsically silly glam rock actually was, and never took themselves too seriously -- as can be seen in this official video!
