50 years since Yuri Gagarin's flightI'm sometimes a little bit sad that I'm really too young to remember the time when human space flight was something exciting and worthwhile. I'm sometimes sad that I do. Those were remarkable times, filled with hope and glory. I'm sorry to this day that when we landed on the moon, we didn't claim it as United States territory, because I think if we had, there'd be half a dozen coutries there today maintaining their own claims.

the differences of opinion between (in crude terms) those who believe it was mostly about slavery and those who believe it was mostly about states' rights don't look like being bridged any time soonIt's a shame that they chose to interview a park ranger. The Park Service's official policy is that the Civil War was a war to end slavery, pure and simple.
