Something tells me this is a setup. Is Logan being hired by Mags? Because why else would Mags let it slip so easily? And why would Logan have a roll of mints in his pocket? I doubt her cares about beer/cigar breath himself. *lol*

I always love drunk!Marie. She's very cute here.

“This is not my fault,” Marie pointed out.

Love how she still knows what's her doing and what's not. Haha!

EDIT: Jesus Christ, I can't type. Ugh.

In "The Main Event" Logan carried a can of Altoids ... he offered a mint to Victor - so I guess I've made that fanon. Maybe he does care about cigar breath. LOL

This fic is based on another movie. Marie's character is followed through Europe by the Scott & Jean characters - she just doesn't know she's being tailed. In that film there's a subplot of Scott & Jean realizing they're in love, but in this fic I wanted to concentrate on Marie & Logan, so I'm not including that aspect of the plotline.

It will all make sense at the end, I promise.

“Do you want me to carry you?” Logan asked.

Apparently she hadn’t caught the sarcasm in his voice because she responded, “Would you?”

“No,” he said with a shake of his head.

Marie let out a sad sigh. One and a half blocks and a handful more pitiful sounds later Logan swept her up in his arms.

“Thank you,” she whispered softly as she nestled herself against his broad chest.

“I’m finding a 24-hour convenience store and buying you a pair of flip-flops - ‘cause I ain’t carrying you all night,” he warned playfully.

Marie just smiled and pressed her face into the side of his neck - comforted by the heat of his skin and the smell of the battered leather jacket. She didn’t notice, but Logan was smiling as well.

I still have to exhale myself at the romance and beauty of this scene. I love when it's written this way...not sleazy, not cheap, but where you know her body and her breath was caught for a moment and even in her alcohol-induced state, she unconsciously just assigned him as her hero.

:)

I love a good fic where they're instantly attracted to each other and can't resist the urge to pounce, but I also like the slow build-up too, so I'm glad you appreciate that as well.

I do! Absolutely love a build-up so long as there's pay-off. *grins* Don't recall a time you disappointed with that, which is why I am always a loyal fan.

Can't wait for more!
