Woot! This Rogue is awesome. A lot more comic-based, like you said, and this is what she should've been in the movies. (In retrospect, I'm glad that they didn't, because the somewhat meek movie-Marie has got more sides to play with, but I remember being disappointed when I say the first movie.)

I love Logan's voice, his annoyance. I love that Marie uses the cab driver for directions. I also love the change of eye color. It's something I always think of as creepy but awesome.

Great chapter. Can't wait to find out what will happen next. I hope Creed is having fun with the cops. Heheh.

I'm really glad you like Logan's voice, as this is my first attempt at him. :) Meek!Marie gives Rogue a lot of dimension, for sure, so I'm also glad she's there. But I always kind of thought, angst aside, poison skin and ability-sucking powers would make someone strut just a little bit more, hee.

Haha, as for Sabretooth -- don't you just love it when you write yourself into a corner, i.e. Oh shit, Northern Canada's not that much of a wasteland, there will be police officers, and then you just think, Bring on more mutant powers! and plow right through? I think they used the same mentality in X3, heh.

*lol* Yeah, I think X3 was a very good example. I was glad even Famke Janssed admitted that it was crap and that her character was being generally stupid most of the time. I guess her contract was expired. *g*

As for writing myself in a corner, well, I usually start writing when I have stuff figured out (with long stories). I have notebooks full with thoughts and questions and plots and solutions. When I have to deliver a chapter every week, I simply can't affort getting stuck. With short stories, I just think - what the hell, and bluff, just like you. ;)

Haha, oh the notebooks. I know about the notebooks. I have powerpoints, word documents, file folders -- the works for my many novel ideas. But the reason I started writing this was because I wanted a fun, easy sort of exercise. I can sit down and write six pages in one go and call it a chapter. I'm way too hard on myself when I write. So far, this has been like a little mental break, one that's gratifying because I still generally like the product. :)

The standoff in the bar was really great! Seeing Marie behave with so much strength (even though she was in a dangerous situation), but still with her underlying uncertainties, is always a treat. Plus, I love how you have Logan slowly becoming interested in Marie and her situation, feeling himself drawn to her, despite himself :D
