I think you're always the fling in the beginning. It's scary to get emotionally involved with someone and easy to get physically involved. I think we hold back the emotional part of ourselves until we're fairly sure that we aren't going to spend the evening in bed listening to John Mayer and crying. Being cautious only says you're afraid. And everybody is afraid of something. Afraid we're going to give more than we get. Or get more than we want.

P.S. I love the way you reference yourself in your entries. It reminds me of the Beastie Boys sampling themselves for their later albums.

Of course that's okay! I write so you can read. And thanks about the hair. That was a huge change for me.
