Thanks Mark! I enjoy it and have been getting more gigs doing it. I just need more topics to discuss. Maybe I'll do on online for the general public someday.
That was really nice of you to help your accountant 'friend', currently I don't think I could have done that, especially if said person was giving me grief for a long time.
During your tutoring, did she ever mention what her major malfunction happened to be? It takes a special kind of person to have the gall to ask for help from someone they've been antagonizing.
I figure I had to - she's not a bad person, I don't think. Just...ill-mannered and ill-adjusted. She's older than me, which is old already, so I think she needs this win, somehow. Who knows, she might become a better person.
I think that she's just labouring under some type of "misfit" issue. I was a misfit so I know it takes a lot of effort to try and not be. Some people never see that about themselves.
I have a friend who is a lawyer who likes to argue about anything they can leverage an argument out of. That's just their nature for whatever reason and it makes them a good a lawyer. I've learned to step aside from it. A lot of times I just laugh really hard and talk about how ridiculous the conversation itself is so that it doesn't come off as an attack and avoids the entire argument.
I think that it's one of those stereotypes of lawyers that they just like to argue; most good lawyers seek consensus. The accountant is a bit of a wannabe and I think the wannabes work harder at living up to the stereotypes than others.
