On NYE, I bought a bottle of single barrel Cruzan. The first one I've seen on a shelf (I guess I frequent stores with less discerning taste). I haven't gotten my hands on an orange yet, so it is still unopened.
Other than that, we dropped the kid at a daycare sleepover and had our first night alone since she was born. We were boring and stayed home watching the Twilight Zone marathon (my favorite holiday tradition) and drinking too much.
Oh...and for Chinese, check out "Chinese Pod." I used it when I attempted to learn Chinese for work. It was great. They have a whole bunch of written exercises for folks like you.
It didn't work for me because I didn't stick to it.
Growing up, I had no idea how satisfying it would be to be a boring old adult. But, seriously? Doing nothing for New Years rocked. Then again, massive storms knocked out our power, so the paltry home fireworks were that much more impressive.
Great way to think of it. Goals vs Resolutions. My goal is to relax more and try not to work so much. We shall see how long that will last... There's more, I just can't think of them.
I still think your right brain will finish the manuscript for you if you start working on another one ... and in no time you'll have two manuscripts instead of one!
In the spirit of making things more concrete, I will tell you that one of my 2011 goals is to blog at least once a week. I'm counting on you to keep me honest. :)

I like being boring and have done the Twilight Zone marathon many a time myself.
Will absolutely check out Chinese Pod; every little bit helps.
