Oh yes. The final sentence - the change of tense in it - is just perfect and portrays the intense emotion of this piece. Giles would look in the diaries, and he wouldn't find anything. And you made this so real and yes, Buffy is special and yet she isn't...

Thanks. I imagine someone must have done it but it would be fun to write excerpts from those diaries.
