- There's a thunderstorm going on right now and the power has gone off, and then back on, twice while I've been writing this. I have to go fix all the clocks now. :-P

- I read this article arguing that the Stargate universe didn't get really good until it became a TV show and it made me all nostalgic for the shows. I caught a bit of "200", their ( Read more... )

It is pretty sweet. I love how Doctor Who encourages people to become knitters just so they, too, can own an awesome scarf.

Haha yeah. Star Trek was my knitting gateway drug. I learned to knit scarves as a kid, but I didn't learn to do hats until I decided I wanted to make Scotty's hat from the first JJ Abrams Star Trek movie. :P

Heh, "knitting gateway drug". So true.

I've seen patterns for that hat. Was it hard to knit? It has an interesting texture with the different garter stitch panels.

First, that scarf looks amazing already! I can't wait to see the final final thing :)

Second - I actually loved the Stargate movie when I saw it in cinemas so I was super uneasy about the shows. I love them a lot, but my heart still belongs to the movie (well, that and Stargate Universe!)

This weekend, hopefully, I will finish off the scarf. Can't wait to wear it a con.

I was still a kid when I watched the Stargate movie (on VHS!), so I wasn't quite old enough to really appreciate the story and the characters. It wasn't until the show premiered, and I was a little older, that I really got into the universe. So I will always have a bias for the shows since they were the ones who introduced this great fandom to me. :-)

Heh, see, I was at uni when the movie came out. We loved it so much we went multiple times. On the other hand, the shows are really awesome. So it's kind of a good deal all round :)
