Eight Levels of Prison - onepassingnight

Mal is dead. She's dead and gone and there's no return for her, but a certain someone in her life can't accept this and let her go. Because of this Mal has been trapped in the dream world, locked away in the jail of memories Cobb has built for her and unable to escape. Then again, why would she ever want to leave Dom?

For Mal, though, she is not dead. The world she lives in is very real to her, at least in mind. Even though her essence isn't even real, she still feels real. She feels alive and she feels like she's truly home, and that Dom only has to come join her.

Dom has built a prison to lock Mal in. Though even he can't confine her to it, parts of her are still bound to the memories of this world he's created for her.

Mal's prison takes the form of an elevator. You press one and you get a memory. In this memory you will always find the 'Mal of the moment'. Sometimes the moment is sweet, sometimes it's dark. She sticks to these memories fairly well, unless something disturbs them or someone reminds her she's just a figment of a dream. Then even she can't be fully held responsible for her actions. You are trespassing after all...

level DOUZE.

In this memory you find a bright beach. It carries on for miles of beautiful, almost whit sand. Rocks border the ocean that breaks where it meets the land, a softer sea than usual. A house can be found where the grass meets the sands, tall and white and made for summer vacationing. Sitting in the sands, though, you see three figures: a young girl, a younger boy, and a woman. They sit in the sand, happily building a castle of the loose material, bathing in the sun.

This Mal will approach you as a guest on the beach. She will be kind, courteous, outgoing, friendly, but be careful of pulling her from this memory. The waters can be as treacherous as her heart when disturbed.

level DIX.

This is an undisturbed memory. You cannot see anyone. Cannot hear anything. Cannot place anything. The doors open up into a young girl's rooms. Dolls and toys sit around the room, but that's not the focus. The focus is a small dollhouse, perched perfectly in the center of the dresser facing you. You are free to touch it, free to open, even free to test the concealed safe's lock inside. The door opens easily, clearly it's already been tampered with. And inside you'll find a top, silently spinning. You may touch the top, even pick it up, but the moment you take your eyes off it it's back in the safe, spinning forever.

Just beware the malevolent projection that guards the room. Another of Dom's memories you are not to be in, and without a memory Mal to keep herself sane this one will turn on you in a heartbeat.

Mal: "You know what to do. You know how to find me. Do you remember when you asked me to marry you?" Dom: "Of course I do." Mal: "You said you had a dream." Dom: "That we would grow old together." Mal: "And we can..."

The scene opens up on a dining room. A couple sits on a couch in the window, staring deeply in each other's eyes as they speak. It's a clearly intimate moment as they hold hands and Mal lightly brushes her fingers over Dom's face. You almost feel wrong just witnessing such a precious moment between two in love. If you enter, though, Mal stands. She greets you as if you are a guest. Your eyes focus on her, but when you look back Dom is gone. As if he were never there. In fact it's almost as if the moment never existed.

Mal treats you like an honored guest, even offering to make you coffee or tea. Your choice, of course. Be wary of too many questions, though. One wrong one and Mal may remember you're just an intruder. And she doesn't take kindly to strangers these days.

You step out into a long corridor. The tan walls are decorated with small, square art pieces along the top. The corridor opens into a kitchen that overlooks a wide yard with no fence. The scene almost looks undisturbed, like the house is far from the rest of the world. Outside a young boy sits, digging in the ground. Soon his older sister comes to join him, running out to see what her brother could possibly be digging. Laughter fills the air--

"Right now, or never Cobb."

A man in a suit suddenly says to your right, offering another man a plane ticket that the man picks through. Dom begins to turn, to call out to his children. But it's too late.

"James! Phillipa!" A woman calls in a French voice. The children rush up to answer, laughing the whole way into the house. Dom and the other man leave soon after.

No one will answer you in this dream. This is one you cannot touch, but stay too long and Mal is suddenly their, and this is not a friendly Mal. This Mal is full projection, and your not welcome in her world. It'd be best to avoid this level unless you want a fight.

level UN.

It takes your breath away the moment you land on this level. A train goes flying past too fast to even see, and a little close for comfort. You're a little disoriented by the sight of it.

Welcome to limbo.

Here is Mal and Dom's world. There are no people but them. There are streets upon streets of beautifully designed architecture, a whole road dedicated to the homes Mal and Dom lived in at different points in their life. At the end of this street is a tall skyscraper, and within is some of the most modern architecture you've ever scene. But it's the top floor you most want to see. The house, with it's beautiful walls and rooms, even a patio in back that opens out to the skyline of limbo.

The Mal of this memory is scared. She's confused and disoriented. Dom has tried to convince her that this isn't real, but it sure feels real to her. This is the weakest you'll ever find Mal. Her most vulnerable. The chances of being stabbed her are severely reduced. But your chances of being stabbed with Mal are never 0%.

All she's doing in this memory, though, is waiting for a train.

level B.

It would almost be nice, if you could ignore the broken class and tossed about chairs within the room. Lamps lay on the floor, carts are turned over, flowers thrown to the ground. This hotel room looks more like the scene of a barroom brawl. You're almost... scared to enter.

If you do, it's almost hard not to disturb the already shattered room. And the moment you break the silence is the moment you find her, sitting on the couch in her beautiful blue dress that hugs her curves in all the right places. It's almost as if she didn't exist until you disturbed her peace.

From the start she's hostile. Intimidating. Threatening. Even as she explains love to you, what it means to be a half of whole, a riddle that seems to be her entire life you still know that you should not let her get close.

Because this Mal is more violent than any Mal you've seen before. Even when she stabs you it's almost as if she's just trying to get you out of her world. Here, though, she's angry. She's upset. She feels hurt and betrayed. And all she wants to do is scream and fight until her lungs go hoarse and there's nothing left of the ones who've hurt her.

Some of these levels are marked 'undeveloped' due to the fact that we do not have a Cobb, and since these are his memories, I don't want to infer anything and make them up. So for now, these are not accessible levels of this dream world.

disclaimer.

Mal is violent. She is prone to viciously stabbing people, hurting them for her own gains, and mentally torturing people. She has a nice side, though, and this will be the side you always get in your posts, but in her posts you get the 'Mal of the moment'. If you do get a happy Mal, regardless of who's post it is, do not provoke her if you don't want any of the above violence to occur. In other dreams it'd take a lot to set her off, so please unless you want her to attack don't purposely poke at what makes her tick. Play with her violence at your own discretion.

That being said, if she does become violent you fight back, you are more than welcome to do hurt her. She's dead so she'll be fine no matter what. Though it will piss her off (ie. one time in an rp far far away, Eames shot her in the face, she was not a happy Mal). I do not mind people wanting to get one back on her.
