Gay life in Singapore and on being bullied.

For all of Singapore's modernity...it still has to be dragged kicking and screaming to the 21st century in some aspects. I actually think that the station and the show's producers knew what they were doing and were banking on getting more ratings, I mean sure 15K SGD is a lot of money for a person, but not for a network. Well "in the open" is a term that is subjective. It is common knowledge for gay men sure, but is it common knowledge to most conservative groups? I don't think so. Also, coincidentally, as maybe a show of authority and to prove a point towel club was raided (25th of April. So what is the message being sent? You can have your dark alleys and hidden clubs just as long as a gay lifestyle is brought out into the public consciousness.

I think Singapore is confused. It recognizes the gay community's economic contribution but it can't resolve it with its conservative majority. Just sweep it under discussions of race, religion, sexuality.
