What I love about this video, as well as learning lots about depression, is how the science brings together all of different ways people have looked at psychology-related diseases... and finds they all have value; syncretic goodness. Wow!

Thanks for posting that. I changed my schedule for the day and watched the whole thing.

He gives an excellent explanation of current understanding of how things work. I particularly like how he links the psychological and physical aspects, that's tricky to do without coming to a stance that sounds almost like victim blaming.

I find it interesting to hear his comments about childhood stuff and about learned helplessness - I've experienced more of those than I would have liked, and it's possible to work on this stuff. It's just slow, step by step work.

The meditation helps. Rather a lot.
