Hey, E!Online, Haymitch is *not* middle-aged! It's simple math: We find out that he won the previous Quarter Quell when he was 14, and the next Quell occurs in Catching Fire. 14 + 25 = 39, so he's only *38* in the first book. Drunk and paunchy, yes, but definitely under 40.

That being said, RDJ looks younger than he is when he doesn't have the gray beard, so I could get on board with that choice. No Brad Pitt though, *please.* :P

I think the casting is going to change that a bit though. They have 20somthing actors playing Katniss/Peeta/Gale. So that's going to shift things around. I predict Finnick/Joanna/Annie will become 30+. And I think Haymitch is going to be 40+.

I could be wrong though.

Actually he was 16, so he's 40 in the first book. But still, not middle aged (at least not in this time period).

RICHARD ARMITAGE he´s 39, he´s a great actor and he is super hot. ok he is not paunchy but who cares? is not like the book description actually matters XD Go Richard!

I don't really like any of these choices, but if I had to pick Hugh Laurie would come the closest for me.
