Friends are nice to have in college, however not having a lot to begin with can actually be a good thing. Here at UConn, I knew about 5-6 people coming in, only one good friend (Ali Kelley) and the rest I barely talked to. I hang out with Ali only because she's in the same major as I am...but otherwise, I didn't have any friends.

It forces you to go and make new friends, which really is a lot of fun. Trust me, some of my friends at UNH say they hate the fact they still hang out with the same people. Yeah, you might not get to see your friends, but that is what break is for. At minimum, you'll be coming home for winter and summer break. Then you can see your friends.

Don't let your college decision be based on friends. I would have gone to Miami if it hadn't been so expensive, and I would have had no friends there. Seeing that your such an amicable person too, you shouldn't have any problems making new friends.

And I'm guessing this is Arizona State ASU...or is it something else?
