part two: electric boogaloo.

A sequel, of sorts, to the last piece; this one pretty much definitely won't make sense unless you've watched Two-era oldwho, or are very aware of its canon.

Title: the Heart is Dumb and the Heart is Blind.
Fandom: Doctor Who
Characters: Ten, Jamie McCrimmon, an original character (who we should probably call "Bobby McPlotdevice" - no worries, ( Read more... )

::sniff::

aaw. Poor Jamie. Poor Ten.

And screw cannon. The Doctor rescues Jamie, he gets his memories back, and they stay together until Jamie dies of old age. In my head, this is *totally cannon.*

Hee! Screw canon indeed, and that's the way [aha aha] I like it.

:D Thanks for commenting.

I think the two of them are going to my list of OTPs.
It was a lovely and original story, and I just want to hug them now. Well done!

HURRAH. I don't really ship much in this fandom, but I love Jamie so much that I just want to put him in eeeeeverything.

Thanks very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

It's possible you broke my heart a little bit with this. What happened to Jaime and Zoe always struck me as being particularly cruel and unfair. I love how Jamie just can't quite forget, even if he can't remember. And I can totally believe the Doctor going around visiting people after Runaway Bride (and now I think there ought to be loads more fic about that), finally wallowing in the grief he's denied for so long and at the same time sort of coming to terms with his past. It's the perfect place/time to do it.

I love fics that tie in new and old Who and you did a great job with this one.

:D Thank you. Really glad you enjoyed it, love.

I agree about Jamie and Zoe - they make a lovely little team, and they're all so genuinely, obviously gutted to be split up. (I quite wanted to fic her in, at one point - the whole "oh but she'd be fine" tangent was a conversation I had with myself, lulz.)

I love this idea and these two characters together and I'd really enjoy seeing it explored further.

Thank you! That means a lot.

I'm intrigued, by the way - when you say "further", I mean...where would you have liked to see it taken? I ran out of ideas, obviously! :D

Well, for one thing, perhaps an exploration of what it would take to undo a Gallifreyan mind wipe. Maybe a trip to Torchwood would be in order as they have some intresting technical knowledge about memory (with their retcon stuff).

Oooooh. Now THAT is really, really interesting! And, um um um, exactly how much would I love for Captain Jack to meet Jamie? A LOT, THAT'S HOW MUCH. All the rude jokes he'd make about the kilt! It would be the best thing ever.

Just. God. Write it. I know I don't know you (and this sounds like a come-on), but honestly it would be amazing. kgnslkgnsd.

This was lovely.

I really want to see more from that era.

Thank you! I'm sure there's lots about - have you tried one of them sneaky downloading communites of which we do not speak? Or, I think, two_love occasionally has downloads.

OR (final or), you can come to my gaff at some point, so I can ply you with warm drinks and make you watch old videos. :D They're dead good, really!

I have not tried, because for some reason Doctor Who brings on attacks of the Guilt if I try to download it (It feels almost as if trying to download the liveaid song).
I'll get over it though : P

If I'm ever in the area, I'll be holding you to that!
