Are you British? Or were you just writing this way because Sophie is British?

It was the paracetamol and the paraffin heater that gave it away. Thsoe terms aren't used in the U.S., at least not that I am aware. Your paracetamol is our acetaminophen (trademark Tylenol). And, I think, your paraffin heaters are what we call Kerosene heaters. To me, paraffin is a solid wax - used to make candles or, for scientists, used to seal things like petri dishes and test tubes.

Anyway, it works and I liked it - very different from what I imagined when I left that prompt, but that's really the fun of leaving prompts, to see what different people will come up with.

Thanks for answering! It's cool that this fit in with something else you've been working on. Lost senses is an interesting concept, especially for this group, who really needs everything in order to do what they do so well - taking even one thing away would be, well, devestating, as you've shown.

Thanks again.

Ohhh... Yes, I'm sorry I am. I had no idea paraffin heaters would be anything but anywhere else *facepalm* damn. I guess I just about get away with it when writing for Sophie, but more research in future I guess... :S

Now I feel silly.
