Bored to tears with the current dramas on TV I found this series, one I missed, and it looked good.
Lots going for it, but like many BBC productions it was too long, poorly cast (ie otherwise excellent actors unsuited to their roles) and so complicated that only if you were inside the mind of the creator could you possibly begin to understand even a few of the many plots competing with one another. And |'ve subsequently found out that even Paul Abbott, the writer, was working things out as he went along. How it showed!
And the sex scenes were . . . sad, unconvincing, and cringeworthy. I've seen better, more credible drama, in pornographic excerpts (I made my excuses and left early, that's my excuse, if you believe it)
Licence holders were robbed. But enjoy it. There are worse things on the box, but many of them are over in one episode. This lasts for six.
