The World According to Humphrey

A few weeks ago, I read a wonderful book to the kids: The World According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney.  Humphrey is a hamster and, yes, the book is told in first person (first animal?).  That fact surprised the kids, as the opening paragraph sounds so human: "Today was the worst day of my life.  Ms. Mac left Room 26 of Longfellow School.  For
