It'll take someone wealthy or well connected to have a child die. The politicians don't give a damn. Their children and themselves aren't hurt by it.

The politicians weren't directly affected by Sandy Hook. It was someone else's children. The only time I've ever really seen them get off their asses about a problem, was when it affected them.
