Say I currently have a 2Mbps broadband. This is the fastest available to me by my provider. I won't get 2Mbps out of it all the time, 'cos of latency and network traffic. Other people use the same lines for their broadband, so at peak times it'll be slower.
T lines are dedicated fiberoptic lines, that only run to whoever purchases it, so it's not shared. And they run at around 45Mbps. Sweet, huh?

DSL is faster, but doesn't that mean your computer is always connected, so wouldn't that put it at risk for viruses and spyware all the time? I have dialup and it doesn't bother me except for pics not downloading fast. Hey, I remember the days before 56K modems when a 33.6 kpbs was fast. ;)

I remember the days before internet! lol Our first computer was a Packard Bell 8088! And we thought we were 'da shit' with DOS!
