[Ren is sitting calmly in the grass, his legs folded beneath him, staring down idly at his hand which is shaped to support a cup that is not there. Ren tilts his hand carefully in a circular motion, speaking to someone who is also not present.]

This morning... I went to the Suzunari cape.

The wind really sounds like the ringing of bells.

[Ren slowly sat up straighter as if he had been rudely interrupted when in the company of someone else he had been carrying on an intense conversation with.]

Do you not know the story of this cape... Maguri-san?

[Ren's still acting away. Unfortunately he can't tell if it's his acting or Maguri being gullible that caused that reaction. He narrows his eyes at Maguri, focusing his attention on the other boy rather than his invisible hostess or the interrupted conversation.]

Why should I explain it to you when you have lived here, the same as I? Even the sounds of the bells on the wind know the stories that have been told about the cape. It is difficult for me to believe that you have never heard a single one of these stories.

[Ren glanced briefly in Terra's direction, offering a faint smile, then his head turned abruptly, and his attention flicked off towards a distant stand of trees, as if he was hearing something far away.]

[Ren smiles slightly, but catches himself and looks off again at something in the distance.]

Do the bells... not invite you there? You've been living here far longer than I have.

[Ren let his role drop and turned his attention over to Syaoran.]

Yes, as a matter of fact. You're the first person to have figured it out on his own. I recently remembered a role that I was once cast in for a film, and thought I'd run through it again to see what might happen.

You're right of course. I am glad you concluded as much. Insanity would be far too inconvenient, even though I hear such people are unusually creative.

Yes. My role was that of a customer taking part in a tea ceremony... and he is trying to coax the lady serving him into revealing things that she doesn't wish to disclose.
