Brief Explanation of Yume's Character:
Yume is semi-obscure character in the Tenchi Muyo! multi-verse and is exclusive to the Tenchi Muyo! manga series by Hitoshi Okuda. The manga is a spin-off of the OAV series continuity, released in the U.S. under the titles No Need for Tenchi! (first 12 volume run) and The All New Tenchi Muyo! (second 10 volume run).
Yume is an old rival/drinking buddy of Washu's from the Academy and makes her first appearance as the main villian in the long-running Bizen story arc (volumes 4-6 of No Need for Tenchi!). She makes further appearances in the manga run past her initial arc... but then - due to events at the climax of the Bizen saga - as an ally, having developed a genuine (though still snarky and competitive) friendship with Washu.
Overall personality: Arrogant, overly-determined (sometimes obsessively so) and extremely short-tempered. This mellows gradually over time. She is usually in the company of Hishima, a powerful warrior of her own creation and her right-hand man.
