that banner is so beautiful ... as is the fic :)
Perhaps he was up to something evil that he didn’t want anyone to know about.
I don't know who I feel more sorry for: Dawn who is in the dark, or Spike who's having to keep her there.

What a perceptive thing to say. Yeah, you're right though, they both suffer from the weight of knowledge, whether they know it or not.

I love this fic, Lillian. Your assurance with voice and description that absolutely nails these two characters is just downright wonderful. And the unspoken subtext of what Spike is actually doing and the reason why there's a distance between Dawn and Spike and Dawn's poignant yearning for it to be restore--beautifully handled. ::bowing and offering you a daffodil:: So accomplished, this story.

Thank you very much. yourlibrarian really liked it in the beta stage too, but I just can't see it's extraordinary-ness ;)

Wow, thank you so much. That's means a great deal. I guess the friendship between the two is so layered, it can mean so many things (is it even real?) that attempting to get at some of those layers is fascinating.

Yes, that season was not really about mending fences but more about building walls, between all the characters.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback, what a gift, and the daffodil ;)
