After working hard to stay safe for almost two years, the plague has finally reached my inner circle. Layla-May had exactly two days back in school last week, developed symptoms on Sunday while she was with me, and then tested positive for covid on Tuesday.

Sorry to hear Chelsea and Layla have gotten COVID, that must be stressful indeed. *Hug* A lot more people I know are now getting COVID as well, though none I have hung out with while contagious, yet. *Knock on wood*. Hope you and your parents continue to be in the clear and not develop symptoms...I have heard though that with LFTs you have to test again a few days later, since Omicron starts in the throat now and sometimes takes longer to reach the nose, even after symptoms appear.

Hiya. Thanks. Yeah. I did the first LFT on Wednesday. I plan to test again over the weekend to be sure, and although self-isolation for close contacts is no longre required in these parts, I've been staying in all week just to be safe.

My parents and brother I'm more concerned about, as they've been living with Layla all week while she's been ill. But they are all triple-vaxxed, at least.

Wow that is a high proportion of kids from one class to test +ve!

I tested +ve last week too but thankfully because I'm triple jabbed it hasn't been too bad for me.

I'm glad you haven't been too sick! Are you better now or still in recovery?

Definitely feeling better compared to the start of the week. I will get early release slightly - last day of isolation is Monday and if I test -ve tomorrow, I will get out on Sunday. I don't plan to go back into the office until Tuesday just to give me an extra day clear.
