It All Worked Out + Graphics

So... the last couple of days have been pretty stressful--possible-threat-to-graduation stressful. But I went through everything I had to and dealt with substitutions and now I am, thankfully, all set and registered to graduate at the end of winter term (so in April). It's going to be SO NICE not to have to worry about this anymore. It's such a ( Read more... )

How do you make those sprites? Seems like it could be fun for someone likes me who likes to be bored...

These are pixel-overs, so that basically means they're traced. I used Gimp to make these, with the main image as a based--then I drew the outline on a seperate layer (obviously using a hard-edge since you don't want any antialiasing). Then I colored it in, again with the hard-edge, and added the shading over it. For the outline I used the pen tool (or whatever Gimp's version of that is called, I forget) set to the pencil setting at the smallest point. For coloring it in I just used the pencil tool. I kinda think of it like vectoring... but pixelly.

The Pokemon community is pretty gaga over spriting and there's a lot of different kinds of things you can do with it (besides the pixel-over stuff). Plus it's the kind of thing you can do even with MS Paint and patience.

Neat, I really like them. I may have to look up some tutorials online...

You might really like it. Now that I think about it, it's sort of like digital cross-stitching in a way.

It's definitely a big relief to me.

Thanks! I've been having a lot of fun with White 2, so I had to make some graphics for it.
