Ren Faire Pictures

I promise that this post isn't about Xellos's penis this time.

I'm SUPER late on this because I always lag behind when it comes to getting pictures up on my computer. But I went to my first renaissance faire a few weekends ago and had a BLAST. I'm definitely going to go back next summer. I wanted to share a few pictures... aside from 1 , I really ( Read more... )

I know. It is a little disappointing. Maybe next time!

The one I went to was the Bristol Renaissance Faire, which is right on the Illinois/Wisconsin border. Don't know if that's at all convenient for you, but the nice thing about that one is that it runs every weekend from July 7th-September 3rd.

And if anyone questions it, I should just act like THEY'RE the crazy one.

Baha now you have my hopes up ^_^

Hmm... I live near the edge of ohio near Indiana, so It probably wouldn't be too long of a drive, though it wouldn't be a trip I would want to go alone... maybe I could convince my friends to go next year haha.

If you do, you HAVE to tell me, I would get such a kick out of it hahahah

Luckily it wasn't that far away for me. I stayed in a hotel because I wanted to be there for the weekend, but I honestly could've gone back and forth without too much fuss.

Ha! I'm at least wearing it wherever I got on my birthday.

The one with the sword looks neat.
What's a renaissance fair?

It's basically like a county fair crossed with medeival times. People wear costumes, there are crafts and stuff for sale, there's jousting and other entertainment. A lot of renaissance faires stick to one particular time period, but the one I was at was pretty loose, so there were a lot of steampunk outfits, pirates, gypsies, cosplayers, and even trekkies in addition to those in Elizabethan get-ups.

I like that pewter dragon thingie a lot, and I'm not even really into dragons. Except for Smaug.

I was really glad I was able to get it. At first I thought it'd been sold already because I went back to the shop at the end of the day and couldn't find it, but it had just been moved. So yay!

Ooh! Speaking of Smaug, check this out: http://dragonsandbeasties.deviantart.com/#/d58bwpg

I'm sure that was a lot of fun Wendy! I've never been to a renaissance festival but it might be something I'd like.
