That was the worst. Cally could deal with anger. She could deal with hate. She understood those. But pretending it had never happened… it meant everything- all the sacrifice, all the death- it was for nothing. And the people who had followed Gaeta had followed him for a reason. Not just because Earth was a wasteland, but because they thought Gaeta was right. And none of that mattered.

But it should. She didn't expect Gaeta's goals to be met, but just that someone would question. That someone would ask what made people like Gaeta, like Racetrack, like her snap and feel like this was their only recourse. But no one was asking, and soon, it would be forgotten.

This. You managed to work in we Gaeta fans' biggest complaint about the mutiny so perfectly into your story. So many times when people do that they mess with the flow of the narrative, but this... to have Cally be experiencing it like this, as one of the mutineers, and to see that no one talks about it... It hurts. And Cally pinning Hoshi and Gaeta to the wall simply kills me

Yeah, I had fun getting that meta in there. Cally is surprisingly easy to do that with, because I think of all the characters on the show, I am the most like Cally. I probably would have done a lot of the things she's done, with the possible exception of shooting Boomer. And figuring that Cally got a reprieve from the Astral Queen because she essentially switched sides... she's going to have a lonely next chapter, I'm afraid. (Although some interesting "new" characters will be coming in. (By "new" I mean that they're characters from canon, but not ones who've been in this story.))

I'm so glad you enjoyed the toast scene as well. That one has a special place in my heart.

Ohhh man, that argument between Dee and Felix was so hurty, and then near the end of it I realized that he couldn't exactly break up with Dee to protect her and damn if that wasn't exactly what he was doing. :-(

TO DOC COTTLE WHO SHOULD RUN THE WORLD! Ahem. I would like to marry this line and have its babies.

Yeah, that's exactly what Felix was doing. It broke his heart to do it, but he desperately wanted to keep Dee safe. I couldn't put it in, but I like to think that Dee came to see him before his execution and they made up before he died. I can't believe that she wouldn't. ::hopes she gets a novel writer for the big remix and they choose to remix this from Dee's point of view.::

Happy fix-it fic... I'll have to toss it around in my head. "Five people who could have stopped Gaeta from mutinying." Do something with Dee, Tigh, Hoshi, Lee or Helo, and Bill? (I could almost go ten. Dee, Tigh, Hoshi, Lee, Helo, Galen, Sam, Cottle, Laura, and Bill. Or Caprica Six. Maybe Caprica Six instead of one of them. Or even Kara. But it could be fun.)
