You touched so many of the dynamics between characters. Shika and Ino, Temari and Shika, Sasuke and Naruto, Sakura and Ino, Sakura and Naruto. The last two were the biggest and most beautiful. If felt like Sakura was giving up Naruto, and desperately opening herself up for the hope of regaining Ino. A conflict flavored with desperation, hope, the sadness of giving up Naruto.
Also interesting, you touched on all of my favorite ships, Sasuke/Naruto, Sakura/Naruto, Ino/Sakura, and Shikamaru/Temari. And I hope Ino does persuade Sakura to beat off Karin with a stick!
One of the best things about your Sakura stories is that you can SEE how her actions that would have been Sasuke driven have now become Naruto driven. It makes me glow with happiness.

And you get a cookie, you're the first to have commented/picked up on the Shikamaru/Temari I threw out. :D If Shikamaru left, I think Chouji being the laid back guy he is would have been all "have fun! invite me over dude" and understood Shikamaru wouldn't really leave their team, but Ino... since it was a woman she would take that hard. She couldn't keep Sakura as a friend and she never won Sasuke, and even their team dynamic wouldn't keep Shikamaru. :/
It wasn't so much to me the hope of regaining Ino, but proving to Ino she was strong enough to be her friend now. Sakura was never happy with herself, and now she is. Away from Sasuke, Naruto doesn't like himeslf, and now he does

I think I like the second one too, it's that same dynamic: when Naruto took Sasuke's hand at VOTE and gave that "I'll take care of you" little kid grin, and Sasuke gave a slow, hesitant "thank you" smile back...wasn't that the same core of Ino and Sakura? *is bricked* I have YET to see a crack pic where Sakura and Sasuke growl at each other--I would die over a Narusaku Sasunaru tug of war with Naruto all "WTF."
Aw, this was fantastic! I love how you took something that could've been nothing more than a whimsical crack!fic and gave it a heart and a soul all its own. Nice job with the Ino, by the way. That tiny part about Shikamaru spoke volumes, if you know what I mean. Very smooth characterization. Also, it's nice to read a Sakura who's actually pretty cool and not a villainized bitch.

Yes...as much as I like TemarixShikamaru, I never see fics where the rest of his team's reactions are...real. Chouji, being more laid back, would probably wave them off with a 'dude, invite me over' because 1) he's quite normal 2) he trusts Shikamaru. But Ino's lost Sakura, Sasuke who she never had, and her teammate. She didn't deal with losing Sakura very well IMO (*subtext suuubteeexttt* xD)
I think Sakura's a prime example of someone who's so hated by fans that the collective snarkiness is enough to bleed into your opinion of her until you actually start believing she's as much of a bitch as everyone says she is.
And I totally agree with you on the Temari/Shikamaru/rest of his team thing - particularly in regards to Ino. She strikes me as the kind of gal who was having a blast being on a team with two guys to be protective of her/be bossed around by her/be buddies with her. Having that kind of a dynamic busted up is hard enough, having be because of a girl would be worse, in my opinion. But then, I could yammer on for a while about how Ino's more than she's given credit for, too.
I hope she finds someone who makes her happy. :/ She's an insecure girl who desperately wants to overcome that to help the people she loves. But she's scared. And she's lonely. Sakura isn't someone I can relate to, because... I don't know. :/ That's why I never liked SasuSaku I guess, because he never once reached out to address those things unless he was being forced to (in the chunnin exams/when he left and said "thank you"). Only Naruto, Kakashi, and Ino do, and Sai was dropped in it too, which pleasantly surprised me.

So many fanfictions portray Sakura as jealous and mean, and I <3 Sakura, so this made me really happy! I love the way you portray her as possibly heartbroken, but still loving and kind, and I think the SasuNaru moments give the reader a good feeling of what's going on with those two as well. *Loves the ficzor*
Nothing makes me click a back button faster than a fic that makes Sakura into a bitch, slut, or hated by Sasuke or Naruto. Seriously WTF? Naruto's never going to want another woman than her, and Sasuke's guidebook called her a good friend. He doesn't hate her, I don't think he does even now. He just...really could kill her. *thud* I know that doesn't make any sense but that's what I get.
I love Sakura, she's the most normal person in the series (other than TenTen, who we're apparently forbidden to know more about), and for that she's got more to deal with. And she's SasukexNaruto Fangirl #1--I love writing fics with them as getting along and yet...not a threesome you know? Somehow I can't see Sasuke and Sakura ever being that way.
