How can you not love Little Women, or cry over it, for that matter? (It still makes me cry.) I don't understand why Alcott never thought highly of the book, at least, that's what I remember hearing.

I didn't know Alcott didn't think highly of the book... never having read any of her other work, though, I don't have anything else to compare it to. Anyway, I found Little Women to be quite timeless and I'm about to start Little Men now - I've also got Geraldine Brooks' March out from the library. I'm not typically a fan of spin-offs, even high brow ones... but this got good reviews and I'm curious. Have you read it?
