Owning an older home means, of course, there are some issues. And especially when you're a first time homebuyer, you overlook things that'd be indicative of larger problems and/or process issues with regard to the house's maintainance

Having done a couple of houses now the best I can come up with is that aside from people always talking the path of least resistance, people in the 80s were poor as shit, so there was a lot of bad improvising habits that kept up over the years. Its like home archeology.. the best path is to just shut a room down and gut it.
