Sorry If You're Getting Spammed from FFNet Or Objection!

Dec 14, 2007 13:54

I just updated my accounts on there with a bunch of stuff from the PW Kink Meme so apologies on the remote offchance that any of you have me set up as a favourite author because you're probably being spammed to hell for stuff that you have already read.  I've been lazy about putting stuff up there and realised that it was probably better that I got ( Read more... )

Okay, I had my turn yesterday. It must be going around or something, but... why are you disillusioned with the fandom today? Anyone I need to slap?

Me, probably. I never learn :)

Awr, I don't want to slap you. It wouldn't be very nice. I will, however, offer to draw you something properly when I get home, if it will help cheer you up? Bein' down in the dumps sucks hard.

Sneaky you, slipping the first chapter in there with the giant dump of stories. It's lovely.

Glad you liked it. I'm a bit nervous about my interpretation of the character sometimes although I've gotten away with it so far XD

I have tried SOOOO hard to get my head around the notion of UKE/ASEXUAL/CONFUSED/REPRESSED Miles with the perfect starry childhood followed by the evilly-evil stepdad who locked him iin a room and who he couldn't possibly have cared for then falling starry eyed for old friend & happy ever after etc. etc. and I can't make him work in my head :( So I've just had to go with what I can get from what I see and from my own life experiences. But I do get a bit worried about projecting I must say.

This was a harder write than all my other Edgeworth bits too as a) it's at a stressful time for him and b) it's much longer and he has a lot going on. It's bad enough when he only has one issue to brood on but here there's a whole motherload. Heh. It's when I try and wrap them all up in Ch 5 that the trouble starts :)

That description of fanon-Miles made me giggle. Please, feel free to never consider trying to get him in your head. Eww.

And everyone goes from their own experience; that's part of what makes different characterizations interesting. Your Miles is eminently believable to me, at least. He's human, rather than just a collection of personality quirks.

And now I will blame you for the fact that I can't stop humming All The Umbrellas in London, which is one of the best emo songs ever, but is disturbingly catchy.

I'm glad he comes over as relatively well-rounded. If I told you how much time has gome in to sitting about thinking through entire timeline possibilities based on different perspectives from his childhood and teens in order to see what would work to create him as I see him as an adult (without being implausible) you would call the doctor and have me committed. Just working out how he and Phoenix would ever get it together in the first place required a whole rethink of how I had him in my head at one stage when I realised that NEITHER of them would ever make a move in that scenario - ahahah!

I now have a love/hate relationship with the character as a result and actually prefer him when he's older and more mature.

*offers a drink in sympathy for fandom drama, as she's not in a close enough relationship to offer a hug*
*offers another in IAWTP-ness for the description of Fanonworth*

I also saw what you did there - that's why I originally came over. I'm impressed, and intrigued as to where it's going, though my praise isn't worth much. Edgeworth has such a difficult personality he's hard to make a real person, especially with all the fandom baggage he carries. Because you're in fandom, it's difficult to shake it without feeling like you might be going OOC. But I like.

Hah hah! If you tried to hug me IRL I'd probably do a convincing Edgeworth "..." followed by a "do you mind, I'm British" look anyway XD I've never learned the approriate response to unexpected physicality!

Your praise however is always worth much and stop being unwarrantedly modest! But yes, it is worrying working with a character that has so much fanon and so many ... frothing female masses *snerk* that are so particular. And also, who is sometimes inconsistent within the games.

I said "offer", not "hug-rape". :D This is very good vodka, so you'd probably prefer it to hugs anyway.

Oh, Edgeworth and his frothing female masses. I think that's how half of us ended up in fandom. Came for Edgey, stayed for his families. (Speaking of, I've heard you have interesting thoughts on Gregory. Care to share?)

Modesty is warranted. Taking a break from mindrape to do a short for the Meme. Get back to me when I out myself about that and we'll see if it's unwarranted.

Mmm vodka! There's some Gregory stuff from me over on Guilty Parties in the "Manfred" thread.

No mindrape? Crikey! XD I can't wait to see what you have!

I did have a go at your birthday request but I can't seem to make it consensual at all by the way :( I can't make it work without cheating and just assuming it's already happened before and even then I struggle :(
