I know they're talking about a nursing home, but still...

Line from a book I'm reading:
The residents could be excused--enthusiasm, like a solid bowel movement, was ancient history to most of them--

...

Sometime metaphors are... apt and yet not at all appropriate, yes?

(Book in question is a Torchwood book. The House the Jack Built by Guy Adams.)

Err. That would cause me to completely loose- I mean lose- track of what the paragraph was about.

Pretty much that was the only thing I noticed on that page. That line and the rest just... runs away.

It made me laugh. But it's a little lame that that line and a line in Ianto's pov talking about a pastry being a juicy bad boy were the best parts of the book.

The Twilight Streets is the one with Bilis in it? I've got a sample on my Kindle. I want to read it. I thought during the show that there should've been more Bilis because he was way creepy in the first episode he was in.

That's the one. Most of the TW books don't get very good reviews on Amazon, but 'The Twilight Streets' is a notable exception.

Yeah, I'm halfway through my second (In the Silence). And I'm amazed I made it even that far. Though maybe it's nice to know that crap writers can get paid to write official fanfic...
