Thank you. It's kind of really weirding me out. For as long as I can remember, my dad's job has involved hard hats and safety glasses at times and it's like... in my head, concussions, him losing a finger or limb or something, was always a remote possibility, but I guess the danger was somewhat unreal and I never really thought "his career could get him killed."

I've always worked in labs, and despite all the safety notices everywhere they never really *feel* like dangerous places. But someone working in another lab in the same organization was killed by a liquid nitrogen leak, and it was -- whoa! Really? That can happen? Just very surreal.
What a tiny place the world has become. When I heard about this on the news, it never even occurred to me that I might know someone personally affected. I'm very glad to hear that your dad's safe, and so sorry for the less fortunate ones.
