There are so many cool things to do in Astoria.

You can climb the 164 steps of the Astoria Column and enjoy the view from the top. Or you can visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum (more fun than it sounds!) or the Fort Clatsop National Memorial (also way cooler than it sounds).

You can enjoy highway signs listing place names like Dismal

I realize this is a totally belated post, but I love Astoria and think it's so cool you went there for your anniversary. Next time, why don't you drive farther south to Eureka? Our Victorians are so much quainter. Didn't you mention once that you honeymooned at Benbow?

Yes, we did stay at the Benbow Inn. It's kind of shocking we've never gone back there in 20 years. We also stayed in Ferndale. Talk about Victorians!
