Now my real life is not a one to one translation to my fiction
LIES! BLATANT LIES!
My posts to Facebook will either be texted, or emailed, to Jess for her to post for me, but they will still be my posts. [...] She’ll be running her answers by me & Jon
On the one hand, I get the need to step back from social media in order to concentrate on Getting Things Done and Looking After Yourself. It's a good thing to recognise when you need to do it and then follow through. But I can't help but think that sending posts to and having answers run past you is going to be more work than doing it yourself? It feels to me like she needs to learn how to organise herself to manage her time/social media committments better rather than outsourcing it. I think the better way to handle this would be LKH taking an internet hiatus to get work done -- authors do this all the time -- and hiring a proper PA/giving up trying to micromanage everything.
I doubt it's a one-to-one correlation, but it is probably closer than with most authors. But that's what happens when you occasionally forget that your characters are fictional.
And I don't think LKH could handle being completely cut-off from the internet. She'd probably go into withdrawal or something.
Anita's definitely closer to her than Merry, though she's doing her darnedest in A Shiver Of Light.
I totally agree. Though I sorta want to give her a tumbr YOU TRIED! gold star for attempting that Thanksgiving deadline. I don't think she'll make it, not with a couple of con appearances between now and then, but E for effort I guess.
The theory a few of us have had over on the Amazon boards is this is publisher mandated, they got sick of LKH either not using her Social Media professionally (not promoting her books, not keeping it 'on topic' ect) and getting heavy on the TMI, Jess is more of a filter than anything else I'm thinking more stuff on her BOOKS and less about What she ate, almost throwing up after a workout ect.
Thank you, LKH, we've only been shouting this for... about three books now. Thank you for realizing it nonetheless. Technology addiction is a hard thing to resist, and I respect that you're making the effort.
At least you stopped before Anita spent an entire book sitting in front of the PC and fucking weresongbirds between microposts, and you decided to title it Twitter.
I'm very glad someone will be proofreading her posts from now on. Maybe Jess can take out a lot of the obnoxiousness in them as well as fixing grammar/spelling/etc errors.
Not totally sure what the hummingbird has to do with all this?
She... she acknowledged that writers work differently. Holy shit.
She still uses the "muse" idea, and I hate it no matter how it's phrased, and of course she has to bring up that "Castle" show again in order to educate us. But she's not as gratingly annoying and weird about it as she usually is. She has a purple metaphor at the end that I also find annoying, but it's one that does make sense. And her decision here is a good one.
Has she let someone into her circle who doesn't spend their time with their lips glued to her ass?
yet ANOTHER badly-paid slave-to-be-to-hrh? What do you want to bet that this is Pilar's girlfriend?
As for the rest of it: yeah. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. Remember what I said about her being ordered to rehabilitate her image? This stinks like yesterday's dirty diapers.

I really don't see this lasting very long at all.

Got to have a brain to begin with BEFORE you can get ideas . . .
