To simplifiy matters and avoid unnecessary disputes in ljunited, I would ask that everyone make it a matter of policy with their posts not to specifically address any candidate in this community other than rm or other candidates, such as squeaky19 who choose to join our community because they support what we believe in.

Still working on getting all of them finalized and up on this site, as opposed to in posts that have brought people here, but the original promises that were made to LJ comprise the core of what we believe in.

Working with the community, for the community.
Honoring the status of every account.
Maintaining the uptime and performance of the site.
Staying advertisement free.
Never sending us unsolicited e-mail.
Supporting the Free Software movement.

In addition, we explicitly support people having free speech in their journals, and believe their privacy should be safeguarded.

Private business is indeed free to act as it wishes, but if it acts in a way that ignores its customers and their demands, they won't be around for long.

As I mentioned in the first post in this community, LiveJournal is shrinking in activity at about a 1% rate per month. Some of this is due to sluggish development and a general ageing of the site, but some of it is also due to the fact that LJ/SUP adopts policies that discourage people from using the site, and discourage growth.

We aim to do what we can to bring our issues to the attention of the entire advisory board, and to the management of SUP/LJ. If that doesn't work... well, there are other options, none of them exactly ideal, but at least we will have given this one a serious shot.

Our goal isn't to be here for this advisory board campaign. It's to push for making our platform more of a reality for LJers.

You're allowed to comment, but I just said that it's inappropriate for anyone posting here to bring up any other candidate who isn't either endorsed by LJ United, or someone we are specifically working with.
