I finished Walden yesterday.  I found it excellent, albeit as schizophrenic a work of amateur philosophy as I've read in some time.  Thoreau is undoubtably a master of the written word, with the ability to turn a phrase in such a way that it locks itself in the reader's head and makes him pause to think, even when he is speed-reading.  His ( Read more... )

I love the sword of Truth series. I am up to the seventh book. Hope everything is well with you and tyrion. WE miss you guys around here.

I have read the entire Sword of Truth series, and while I agree with you that it is not as well done as A Song of Ice and Fire (What is?), I like the series a lot, and I think that you will find some of the later books especially philosophically congenial.
