LiveJournal introduces a new premium journal style for iPad!

Paid and Permanent users can read their Friends page, comments, and other journals using a style designed specifically for the iPad. You can select this style from the iPad journal style category. This theme can also be found by browsing the 'Premium' journal style category.

Looks fantastic, but icons seem to be always hidden despite clicking the "show icons" and selecting "yes". Is this a bug, or intentional (since we can see other graphics on the page)?

The implication, both here and on the style page, that this was a style that would apply *only* on the iPad. You can imagine how pleased I am to discover that the theme on my full LJ is now gone. Some warning would have been nice; the ability to set an iPad-specific theme without losing your full LJ theme would be even better.

I guess I don't get why we want this? We iPad users have an iPad app, AND can view our regular styles on the iPad browser, Safari.

Not attacking or anything, just confused - can anyone help explain why this would be a good idea to switch? Is it a better option than the LiveJournal app for the iPad? :)
