Well, that's about all I have to say right now. They were so awesome. Not sure how much was the actual episodes, and how much was just the fact that they're NEW STARGATE EPISODES!!!!! Either way, WOW. I'm giddy. But that's my fix for three whole weeks! :( Oh, well. I'll survive. Somehow ( Read more... )

I know, EEEee! I have more coherant comments back at my journal.

It tends to take about three weeks to replenish RBCs, I believe. You probably just went in too soon.

I'm not sure why iron would have gone down more, but it might take your body a bit longer to start absorbing the extra iron. That's the only thing I can think of.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I wanted to try before I leave tomorrow, though, and they gave me a T-shirt just for trying! :)

Omg, Stargates! *flail* *wants*

And no, actually, that makes sense with the iron. When your level goes down, it means that you're not getting enough and that there isn't a big enough store of iron to supplement - thus, you're using up your stores. And even though you had a lot of iron this week, it still isn't enough to replace everything as well as what your body needs daily anyway.

Last year, when I got refused because of low iron, I had to increase the iron in my diet, take a three-month course of iron supplements plus I wasn't able to donate for another three months after that. The Red Cross here has a rule that you can't donate for a minimum of six months after testing low so that your stores can improve. But I think I also was technically anaemic.

I mean, you lose iron whenever you donate so you need that extra for back-up; which is why they prefer people to have slightly higher than what is deemed the bottom healthy haemoglobin level.

Oh, okay. Interesting!

And, yes, Stargate! It's worth waiting for, but I'm sorry you have to. :(
